US allows food, fertilizer, drugs transactions with Russia
WASHINGTON, Jul 15 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Department of Treasury has issued a general license allowing transactions with Russia connected with food, fertilizers, seeds, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, according to a statement released late on Thursday.
"Today, the Department of the Treasury is issuing a Fact Sheet to further clarify agricultural commodities (including fertilizer), agricultural equipment, or medicine relating to Russia are not the target of U.S. sanctions," the authority said.
The U.S. also temporarily allowed transactions with former affiliate of Russian gas giant Gazprom, Gazprom Germania GmbH and cancelled sanctions against affiliate of Alfa-Bank in Kazakhstan, JSC Alfa Bank.
